When Things Get A Bit Chalky ❤

Good morning, dear readers, sharing yet another bible journaling page with you! I'm offering you a little bit of ingenuity this morning.

Have you ever thought to add chalkboard markers to your journal entries?

The journal entry you'll see below was used using the BISTRO Chalkboard MARKERS above.  This entry also has LePen or two, of course!

The following pages are journaling the readings for April 30, 2016. I highlighted the text that I wanted to focus on, I also drew some arrows, well, seven...because when I journal, I try to focus in on the 7 gifts of the Holy Spirit. Fun Fact about me: Seven is a special number in my life as well, Paddy and Mack were both born on the 7th, and we adopted 2 of our 3 dogs on the 7th..and the other was actually born on July 7th...so you will always find seven somewhere in the things I share with you.

Here is a close up of the entry. You'll notice that the "chalkboard" is not a perfect, straight line, I don't do perfect, I can't draw a straight line with a ruler. It's just "not a thing" in my life, and I don't even attempt to try.

I added a lot of "dots" of various sizes and colors. I outlined my text too, I felt like alone it didn't stay out enough, so I went back after looking at it awhile, and committed to the outline. The beauty in using something like a chalkboard marker, you can go over it in black and begin again. It's "smeared" a little, because I wanted texture.

Here's an additional close up, you can see the outlines. The only thing I used that wasn't SRM, was a gold marker to add a bit of sparkle to the page as well.

Thanks for letting me share with you! ❤

Java Latte Fun! ❤

Happy Thursday peeps!

Hoping you are moving through this week in a good way..and that your weekend will be filled with happy things. ❤

I'm sharing an oldie but a goodie couple of files with you today on the blog, with of course a food pun!

I reached way back in the vault and grabbed Java Great Day Cutting Files and some of Lisa's digital papers as well...they have great texture and they print out amazing! Here are the patterns I used on my card: Natural Love White Polka Dots  and Natural Love Chevron & Stripes.

The pun? I couldn't help myself.

Have a great Thursday!

Make sure you check out PPPR's FACEBOOK PAGE THIS WEEKEND!! Stay tuned and make sure you check back!!!

I Chose You

Good morning! I hope this post finds you well.  I'm sharing another bible journaling journey with you today! Something I want to point out to you as you'll probably be seeing more and more bible inspired posts here at SRM, there is no wrong or right way to begin. You may feel intimidated or overwhelmed, maybe you don't know where to begin? It all starts with a single step, like any journey.

My first entry in my bible looks nothing like the one you'll see in this post, I was terrified that I would ruin it, but friends, you can't ruin something that you're on out of pure inspiration. Some of your entries will be simple, some of them will be complex. You are going to find that every entry will be driven by a different reason each time.

I used SRM Little Borders (in Black and White)Clear Stamps in Words of FaithLe Pens and Sticker Stitches as I worked on my page.

Here is a close up of some of the detail in the stamps that I used to stamp inside the hearts:

As you do your Bible Journaling, do not force yourself to journal, if you're not feeling it, walk away and come back to it, this isn't any kind of contest, this is your personal spiritual journey, or your personal time to get to know God better.  Here are the SRM products that I used on this page.  Look closely and you will see how each of these stamps, stickers and pens have been woven together to create my page.

Faith ● Hope ● Love and some SRM Stickers

Good morning, sharing some bible journaling with you today. SRM has some great products for documenting your faith. There's stickers, stamps and pens, just to name a few. I'm sharing a page I created using some watercolors, markers, a LePen and SRM stamps.

I repeated the cross symbol you see here, to build up the verse I was concentrating on. I am trying to catch up to the current date, but as with all things, I am not perfect, and I have to remember there is no wrong or right way to journal in my bible.

SRM has an excellent stamp set for this very thing. The stamp set is called "Words of Faith", it's your favorite things about SRM Stickers in the form of a stamp! You can see the crosses, which is one of images available on the sheet and you can also see the words at the top (faith●hope●love●faith) as well. I shadow stamped the words with a watery red, this gave some depth and dimension to the page.  I used a black Le Pen to outline the verse, add "stitches" and the date. You'll also see the book/chapter/verse documented with the black Le Pen as well. I used a thicker pen I had on hand to journal the words. I used a red Le Pen to fill in the heart.

SRM BIBLE JOURNALING, 4-2016, Shannon M.

Here is a close up to the crosses, I used a ombre ink pad to stamp the crosses, I wanted it to fill airy and watery. When I begin my pages, I often never know where they will lead me, I definitely wanted it to lend to a dreamy, muted feel, yet have presence.

One more quick close up of the stamps for you, SRM stamps are so amazing to work with, they leave clean, crisp images on your pages.

Thank you for letting me share with you! Have a great day!

❤{Birthday Wishes with Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons!}❤

Every once in awhile, I like to create cards to print out. I love using PPPR files for everything. Lisa created some pie charts, they are simple, but pack a big punch. I created this card using Pie Charts 1 Cutting Files. Take a look at the perfect way you can add text to the pieces in the chart.

#lots of LUCK with Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons

I embrace any excuse to create St. Patrick's Day things.

This time of year, though I am also very happy to embrace snow, I do like to peer ahead into spring...even if spring leads to summer (booooooo).

I used some awesome Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons files to create this little greeting (which also doubles as a door hanger). Files used: Shamrock Faces Cutting Files and Shadow Box Card 1 Cutting Files

To create the "hanger"..punch a hole using a hole punch in the top two scallops. Thread some twine of your choice through the top and tie the ends. I braided mine for some extra detail.

Here's a close up of that sweet shamrock, I have used this shamrock repeatedly, it's one of my very favorites.

Thanks for stopping by today, make sure you head over to Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons tomorrow for a great Guest Designer and a fabulous freebie!

I like to plan ahead, I attribute it to being an only child and having to be in control of everything. You can use all of these products to help you plan your month, your week, or just record your life in the present...so you can look back and remember little things you may not have thought was significant at the time, but they all tell the story of you...so they are!
