★·.·♥·.·❉ Twelve Days of Christmas ★·.·♥·.·❉

...ok really there's 24 days of Christmas (which is in itself WONDERFUL, yet horrifying for the procrastinator in me)...and I am staring at the tree that has been standing up in our family room for a week....parially lit and thinking of the mere craziness that I have walked by it for a few days now (ok almost 6 days) without a thought that it's just hovering there skunkeyeing me with disdain as I neglect it.

...but in my defense I have many things to work on and create...baking and my poor Tahoe broke down for the final time this week and we had to leave it in an used car lot this week and I felt so sad for he was our car for ten years. I was assured that he would have a good home, or go on to help other Tahoes just like him and the car salesman probably found me completely certifiable in that moment...Karl is beyond used to this was no surprise to him as he rolled his eyes and kindly grabbed my hand so I wouldn't tear up.

...some of the scrappy goodness that I am creating is not in vain. It's very easy to create the following 12 Days of Christmas Garland that I made for SRM Stickers:

This is a different take on the Twelve Days of Christmas....usually people use it as a countdown to the big day...but I created this countdown calendar to be used from the 26th of December to the 6th of January to celebrate the Epiphany. I have always felt connected to The Magi, they are my favorite part of the Christmas Story...they blindly left everything behind to seek the King of Kings and I imagine, though wise, they were filled with uncertainty and realized that even in their faith, they were risking everything. To me that is amazing, and I forever try to emulate that faith in my own life...I know that I fail daily, but I keep trying.

Each day on the Twelve Days of Christmas has a symbolic way to celebrate and some sort of observation or activity for us to do....and the kids are beyond excited to start this new tradition this year.

SRM 12 Days 2

Have a wodnerful Friday! I hope you have a great weekend as well..and start some new traditions or keep observing your familiar ones. ♥

•♥•♥•♥•♥•♥ Happy Thanksgiving! ♥•♥•♥•♥•♥•

“I am grateful for what I am and have. My thanksgiving is perpetual…O how I laugh when I think of my vague indefinite riches. No run on my bank can drain it, for my wealth is not possession but enjoyment.”

Henry David Thoreau

I created this for Zig Kuretake, who you know has all kinds of beautiful pens and various products that you can use for your scrapping and crafting needs...they have such a selection of things, the possibilities are endless.

I really do feel like I am grateful most days and I have much to be thankful for. I have noted something each day for November...I know that a lot of people scoff at that. That a person should be grateful everyday...and I guess I would like to point out that I am...each day simply that God remembered to wake me up, I just feel the need to document it in a traditionally obnoxious way for the month of November...all the while jumping on a gratitude bandwagon with my friends. It makes us happy...and it's ok.

I can't imagine life without my faith, my family or my friends. Without them, I have nothing.

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving wherever you are!

.•♥•..•♥•Welcome November, Sweet November•♥•..•♥•.

It's's beautiful! It's full of vibrance and vigor...sending everyone in our house into a frenzy of sillyness and happy. It sparks great creativity...inspiring home improvement projects...mighty and small. It inspires a fine frenzy of holiday crafts and gratitude projects. The mere fact that we are a mere 18 days from our Charlie Brown Thanksgiving enough to make us smile big, geeky grins. It keeps me going at the end of what seems to be a long year...a year that seemed to fly by just the same. It envokes the happiness of knowing my Momma is only a month or so away from visiting. It also marks a great milestone in my life. My baby boy turns 10. I have had the honor of being his mother for ten years now. I look back at how far he's come and it's awe inspiring. It brings tears to my eyes that I didn't know I had. I love him more and more each day. It's bittersweet seeing the baby he has left behind, the little boy he's trying to hang onto...and the young man peeking out at me. I can't wait to see him grow, yet I want to cling to his sweetness. I adore him. He'll always be my Paddyboy.

This inspired me to create this layout based on Creative Scappers Sketch #233...well that and I haven't unpacked my scrap room yet..this sketch is phenomenal to work will create great things with it!

and here's what I created with it:

November! Can you believe it?!?! It seemed like just yesterday that it was January and I was mourning the holidays because they seem to breeze by...and we're staring Thanksgiving in the face! (Since I am a perpetual child and total geek...this is more than ok with me and makes me incredibly happy...).

Things are in full swing in preparation of all kinds of upcoming fun stuff...Paddy's birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas (which means I get to see my MOMMA!) and New Years...and beyond...I remain steadfast in creating throughout all of this cuh-razy-ness that will ensue.

Today is no exception! I am sharing ScrapFIT Workout #79 with you today:

Workout #79- Tape It Up

Have a great November 1! Remember GRATITUDE this month! :)
November 1: I am grateful for the moon and stars. I looked up at them today when I took the crazy dogs out this morning. I am always amazed that they are so beautiful, available and constant. They make me smile. Always. The sun is pretty "meh"...I think it takes much more effort to shine so brightly in the darkness...I have a greater appreciation for the moon and stars.
