❤ Wishing You a Very Pretty Wednesday ❤

A very pretty Wednesday filled with inspiration from Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons that is! The team is bringing you a whole bunch of creative goodness today! Make sure you look around and leave some love. (So many clever ideas!!)

For today's post I am bringing you some digital paper and digital clip art from Lisa's store. There's literally something for everyone! Great patterns, super awesome graphics and cutting files. I used Natural Love White Polka Dots & Natural Love Chevron & Stripes...and threw in a cute rainbow from Rain or Shine Digital Clip Art for good measure!

Mackenzie's photo totally inspired me to create with Lisa's papers...they complimented so nicely, not to mention they print out divinely! See! I told you they were perfect! Thanks for looking!!! ❤

PPPR 4-24-13, Shannon M.

Have a very pretty Wednesday!

{Xyron's Something Old to Something New Week!}

All week long Xyron designers are bringing you onslaught of inspiration! Inspiration in the form of reinventing projects...something old to something're going to love the things our designers came up with!

I had the challenge of Old to New with this project by Christina Klauer:

Our mission was to use the project we chose for inspiration and come up with something new.

Not only was I inspired by Christina's project (both in color and concept),  I was also inspired by Earth Day and literally took the old to new to heart.

I had this 5X5 Chunky Canvas sitting around staring at me with big, lonely cow eyes. I knew exactly what I wanted to create with it.

I lightly sanded it and then painted it aqua. Here's a special tip that I am going to share with you. For easy polka dots...use a piece of giant bubble wrap! Lightly push it into the wet canvas and lift. You have an instant polka dot template.

Use a sponge paint dauber and some contrasting paint to dot the canvas. It should look like the picture here.

While the paint is can start working on the parts and pieces! I cut out some circles and a heart. I sprayed them with mist and let dry. For some extra oomph, you can take the bubble wrap and use it as a relief pattern on the heart.

You can use your nifty Cheetah Runner if you have one to adhere the circles together. (If you don't have a Cheetah should definitely invest in one. It's so user friendly and lays down a great adhesive strip!) I chose to stitch my heart with some Natural Twine from Timeless Twine. It added a perfect little touch. I then adhered my heart to the circles with my Cheetah Runner.

Staying true to the Earth Day inspiration, I looked through my stash and discovered some chipboard alphas that were in dire need of use. I painted them white, outlined them in silver and ran them through my Teresa Collins Stickermaker.

XYRON Old to New Step 5

You can stop here if you wish if you like a clean look to your project. I tried to leave it be, alas I could not and had to add some shabby, grungy goodness to it. I added some gems, more twine, more mist, paint circles and glitter.

Take a gander at the completed canvas! ❤ Anam Cara is Gaelic for Soul Friend, having a soul friend is an amazing bond. Your “Anam Cara” always accepts you as you truly are, holding you in beauty and light. ❤

Make sure you stop by Christina Heeren and Courtney Lee's blogs also!! They have some inspiration to wow you and create some scrappy mojo!! ❤

❤ A Girl with Paper Issues ❤

I have many issues...I have parents, a husband and four lifelong friends who can attest to this. And while my issues are often squirrelly and/or quirky...I can assure you...the following issue is is nothing short of awesome!

I have been asked to join Paper Issues!

I'm fairly certain that this is the BEST ISSUE I have ever had. I am so excited to working with everyone and I can't wait to begin! I'm still pinching myself, thinking this is just a dream! Join me in congratulating the other newbies & continuing members!

❤ Saturday is full of Pretty Paper and Pretty Ribbons! ❤

Welcome to the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Blog Hop!!!

Lisa, owner of Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons has been hard at work, she's been a busy, busy bee...creating all kinds of great files and clip art...clearly trying to bring us all out of the weather funk that's settled over the land! I can't think of a better way to share all of this springy greatness with you than a Spring inspired Blog Hop and scrappy craftiness from the designers!

I literally drool whenever I look through Lisa's store...I would buy everything if I could. Not even kidding. I am for some reason inspired by yellow right now, which is odd because it is a color I don't normally "feel" one way or the other about. It's a take it or leave it color...right now it's an "I LOVE" color. There's much to love in the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbon Shop when it comes to yellow, so I kind of lucked out!

I hope this layout inspires you to create something springy and cheerful!

*{Doing Double Duty with Xyron...}*

Yes, I said duty...some of you laughed, some of you breezed right by it, but I'll never miss a chance to type duty, even if it's spelled incorrectly for the meaning. I'm bringing you a layout today that I created for Xyron. If you aren't familiar with Xyron, I think you may live under a rock...or you wear a tinfoil hat..if that's the case, than most likely you've reached my blog by mistake.

I used my Teresa Collins Mega Runner and Sticker Maker...I also used the fabulous Glue Stick for Corners that Xyron has available.

I also used this sketch created by Kristine Davidson over at Creative Scrappers. It is a sketch that is featured in her Creating with Sketches Volume 2. (Which is fabulous...and if you haven't scored yourself a definitely need to...there are fabulous designers in it and endless creative opportunities to inspire and ignite you scrappy mojo!)

Here's how this sketch inspired me:

I hope you have a splendid Wednesday & you find some time to create something beautiful today...whether it's paper or not. ❤

❤{Timeless Twine Tuesday: Make it Matter}❤

This is what you will find on Timeless Twine's Blog's the same message, and very rarely do I post something serious...but I feel like it needs to be shared in duplicate...I encourage you to document those horrible pictures, those days that didn't go so well, accomplishments that seem mediocre...believe me, it will matter one day:

There's so much pressure these have the perfect image, the perfect page, the perfect dinner, the perfect job, life, car, spouse, children, facebook page, cookie recipe, shoes, children, dogs, nails...see where I'm going with this? How can you possibly do this?!??!! The answer: you simply can't.

Repeat this to yourself: I am enough. My life is enough. It doesn't matter if it isn't a Martha Stewart print ad in a magazine. (I love Martha and I could strive my whole day away and not even come close...why? Because I was created to be me. I was wired to be the way I am, odd at times....quirky, imperfect.) Feel better now?  You should. I have a new mantra lately...given all the recent events, the craziness in this world, listening to friends who are grieving, friends who are struggling, the daily struggles we all face...besides simply being grateful that I have another day here...I need to do my best to *{MAKE IT MATTER}*...making each day your best day...or if it's a completely poopalicious day...trying to find something good in the day...and I am encouraging you to take this on in your life if you don't already. It's so easy to get caught up in something simple and making it into a ridiculous, epic episode. Life is too short. It's ok to have a messy entryway...see layout pictured below. I'm trying to relax my OCD and be imperfect.

Make it Matter ❤ Make it Matter ❤ Make it Matter

It's my first post for Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons...I am so excited to share this debut with you! The team has welcomed me with big, open arms, they are so amazingly creative it's ridiculous!

I used some of the fabulous Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Clip Art designs for my layout, you can find them at Lisa's Shop:

I used the versatile Notebook Pages Digital Clipart (Notebook Paper and Notepad Paper) & the oh so cute Happy Rainbow Digital Clipart ❤

The clipart is amazing, the detail is so clean, perfect & prints out so well! You should definitely head over to the shop & check it out!

We recently went to the Etowah Indian Burial Grounds together & it was just a really nice day as a family. Simple times make the best times. ❤

It's Tuesday Y'all..

Look at me...throwing a little southern in there for you...even though I'm as Northern as they pretty much it's a wash. I still say pop and I like that it flurried here recently...and I am so very much trying to pretend Hades is rearing his ugly clown like face and sneering at me.

However...onto cheerier's Tuesday and I am sharing some Timeless Twine goodness with you!! I created this layout using a few of the yummy Timeless Twine colors!! The colors are amazing and match perfect! Colors used: Strawberry Cupcake and Graphite Gray.

Thanks for letting me share with you today!!! ❤
