All week long Xyron and Bo Bunny have been partnering up to bring you some great inspiration in a week long Blog Hop!
I created a two page layout for this occasion....I know that a lot of scrapbookers struggle with the dreaded two pager! Even better, I will take you through my layout step by step to hopefully encourage you or inspire you to create one.
Of course you need to gather materials:
Once you have gathered materials, if you choose..now is the time to mist your base. This part is totally optional.
I am sure other people do this, but I am sharing this super duper trick with you on how I keep my layout perfectly type A. The key to 2 page layouts is balance. To do this, I flip over my pages and butt them up together. I then run tape down the seam. See below.
The next step...of course, flip the paper over. It's now time to begin with that whole balance thing. I base this on the number of photos, papers that inspired me in the first place, ebellishments, etc. I start out though by establishing where I want my photos. They are the real stars of your layout.
Once you have that layed out, you can begin building your layers.
Add as many or as little layers as you wish, this is all personal preference.
I chose three layers..it's a weird odd number thing. It's ridiculous and drives my family crazy.
This is the point...again giving you a little tip here...*snap a photo of it* because you have to glue it all down, but that means you will have to dissect everything you just layed out to do so. Your 2 inch Cheetah Runner is perfect for this. The Megarunner is also a great tool to complete this project as well.
This is also the time where you can distress edges, ink and doodle each layer before laying it down permanently. Once you have done that, and everything has dried, you can start assembling. I used my Teresa Collins Stickermaker as well for assembling some of the added elements you will see in the finished layout.
If you like a clean layout, disregard above.
This is my finished layout. I added some bling, paint and some splotches here and there.
Here's a close up of some of the details:
This is just my example! Liz Qualman and Ann Cobiere-Scott are also inspiring you today, make sure you click on their names and leave them some love!
