✿[Xyron, Little Yellow Bicycle & May Arts Day 4]✿

Three companies. ALL WEEK. Great giveaways. Need I say more?
Xyron, Little Yellow Bicycle & May Arts is bringing you inspiration all week long. All 3 are having daily giveaways, so make sure you stop by each blog! Our team has created a wide array of projects for you to be inspired. Today it's Courtney Lee, Van Nguyen & my turn to inspire you.

I was inspired to use LYB and May Arts along with my handy dandy Xyron adhesives to create the some SMASHtype I don't formally have a SMASH book..but I like the free form of those pages...and thus kind of just do my own thing. (Imagine that?)

Thanks for stopping by! Make sure you check out all the other inspiration going on today from my fellow Xyron design team members, Little Yellow Bicycle and May Arts!! :)

❤ Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Get Well Blog Hop! ❤

It's the Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Get Well Blog Hop!

If you came here from Ana Maria's blog, then you're right on track. If not you may want to start over at Lisa's blog and hop through...there's a great prize up for grabs and you don't want to miss a stop!

This is Blog Hop is exactly what it sounds like! It's a blog hop featuring get well projects, cards and layouts. Not only is this a blog hop inspiring you with a "get well" theme, it's also a post to let you know you can get in on the action with a Get Well Themed project, card or layout of your own.

I'm sharing this layout I created...not everything about life is pretty. My poor little girl was ill this past winter. She caught one of the strains of flu, even though she had a flu shot. It was pretty grim, we couched it for over a week and I felt helpless because I couldn't do anything to ease her discomfort. We had to just ride it out, even calling a hospital we used to go to in Michigan to get advice from the nurses there. Smart Water dragged her out of it and she was back to normal! ❤

Here's a close up of some of the great PPPR details:

❤ A Very Pretty Wednesday to You ❤

It's Wednesday & on my blog it has become a staple to share with you some Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons inspiration. ❤

This week is no exception...I'm sharing a layout inspired by Paddy and my Momma. They have this ridiculously amazing bond, and I captured them in semi candid moments. Knowing they were being snapped...Paddy was silly as always and my mom sweet...but they couldn't for the life of them pose for a picture because someone *coughcoughMackenziecoughcough* was "photobombing" and running in front of the camera as I snapped in between threatening her limbs and saying "smile" these were some of the good shots. 。◕‿◕。

I used Lisa's new Man, Oh Man Collection...there are so many papers that you could use in this FABULOUS collection. I used Man, Oh Man Chevrons, Pattern Pack 1, Pattern Pack 2, Polka Dots & Love Bug White Polka Dots.

☆ Xyron/Epiphany Crafts ● Day 3 ☆

All this week, Xyron and Epiphany Crafts are bringing you some spectacular inspiration.

Today is Christina Heeren's and my turn to inspire make sure you stop by her blog and check out her work as well.

I love working with Epiphany Crafts...they have some really cool tools! I created a gift bag and card using Xyron, Shape Studio Tool Heart 25 and accompanying Bubble Caps.

The Bubble Caps create the perfect amount of dimension. I am so happy that I got the chance to work with such awesome stuff!

I really love the way the hearts pop...and I love how easy the tools are to work with.

The card to go with this set has great dimension also.

Have a happy Wednesday!

{Xyron, Gel-a-tins & the Anatomy of a Card}

Xyron and Gel-a-tins are partnered up to give you some creativity and inspiration. The Xyron girls have been working hard to bring you some examples of Gel-a-tins versatility and user friendliness!

I am initimidated by stamps and stamping, I'm not going to beat around the bush with you. However, Gel-a-tins alleviates this for me a bit..there's just something about their stamps.

I'm sharing a tutorial with you today about how I created a card for Gel-a-tins using Xyron adhesives.

Check it out!

Materials needed for this card: White cardstock base, patterned papers (you could use scraps) Jenni Bowlin, My Mind’s Eye Notable “Silly”,  Heidi Swapp Color Shine in Tropicana Teal and Mustard Yellow, Studio Calico Mr. Huey’s Mist Taxi, a precut tag or tag cut out with your cutting system, Extra Fine Point Sharpie, Basic Grey Candy Buttons Enamel Dots Studio Calico Neverland and Tannenbaum, Tim Holtz Stickles in Spiced Marmalade, Stickles in Aqua, Timeless Twine Aqua Blue, Olive Green, Pumpkin Orange, Lemonade Yellow, Hero Arts Soft Pool Blue ink, Dew Drop Brilliance in Graphite Black, Gelatins Honey Bear Stamping Set, Gelatins Acrylic Stamping Block,  Xyron Teresa Collins Stickermaker, Xyron Teresa Collins Megarunner, Xyron 2 inch Cheetah Runner

Begin with a tag and stamp your flowers in the bottom right hand corner.

Add sentiment in the upper right hand corner.

Mist the tag using Heidi Swapp Colorshine in Tropicana Teal.

Mist the cardstock base using the same mist. Let dry. Once dry ink with Pool Blue and outline with Sharpie if desired.

Trace tag or cut out another tag using MME paper and create a shadow tag, adhere with Xyron 2 inch Cheetah Runner. Outline with Sharpie if desired.

Cut three strips of your patterned papers.  After inking with pool blue and outlining with Sharpie if desired. And set aside.

Cut a base for your card. Using yellow polkadot paper (I used some from Jenni Bowlin’s May Kit). It should measure 3 ½ w X 4 ¾ l with a torn edge on the bottom. Ink with pool blue and outline with Sharpie if desired. Use your 2 inch Cheetah Runner to adhere to the cardbase.

Run your strips through your Stickermaker.

Adhere to the card front as shown. Slightly overlap each strip.

Adhere tag to the front of the card base. Cut 4 equal medium to long lengths of each color of twine. Lace through the tag and tie in knot. Trim the tails, leaving enough to tie another knot. Make loops with all the extra twine and place in middle of knot. Tie tightly with the tails and then cut all the loops creating a pom-pom effect.

At this time you can add the splotches of mist (mustard and taxi yellow). To do this, you can open the mist bottle and lightly dab blotches onto your card with the tip of the sprayer.  Add enamel dots right over the mist. Next color the stems with the tip of your green mist, running the tip of the sprayer along the stems and leaves it will naturally cling to the ink and dry with a watercolor effect. Add the orange Stickles to the petals. Add a few glue “dots” to the card front also with orange and aqua Stickles. Let Dry.

*{What You Can Do With 10 Minutes & Some Timeless Twine}*

Ten seems like a lot of time. I'm pretty certain it is, in some respects. Ten minutes is a lot of time if you're waiting for the mail to come, have to go to the bathroom, waiting for cookies to bake or nail polish to dry. These are all perfect examples of how long ten minutes can be...

Here's an example of how ten minutes rushes by like a raging river...creating a card for 10 Minute Craft Dash...I created this card thinking, oh I'll have plenty of time...alas, I did not. I had literally 1 second of ten minutes left. I am not a speed scrapper friends. So I challenge you to take on this craziness that is 10 Minute Craft Dash. Our fearless leader Stacy is sponsoring this inspiring site and offering up some awesome Timeless Twine...and so the Twine-ista's are answering the call and inspiring you alongside Paulina's team.

Timeless Twine:10 Min Craft Dash, 6-5-13, Shannon M.

Ten minutes...can you do it? I challenge you.

*{Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons & the Andromeda Galaxy}*

It's Wednesday, the middle of another week and time to share another Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons inspirational idea with you. The title...I'm sure you're wondering how it came to be...or maybe you aren't as you already know how quirky I am.

That title is (no surprise here) a tale to be's a Trivial Pursuit card, it's a glass too many of champagne, it's a first date, it's a blind date, it's a spark of electricity on fire, it's the best real "first date" ever, it's two wine glasses, it's road trips listening to someone sing their heart out off key, a drunken slide ride, a greyhound, an AC DC concert..., a proposal on a parkbench, a winter wedding, a November baby, a September baby, it's 16 years of laughter, tears and commitment, it's a marriage and two children, two crazy dogs, a bunch of Irish Traveler moves and three states later, it's all the things that encompass Karl and I's journey together. We have been through so much together, it's crazy, it would seem extremely crazy to other people, but we've made it and I wouldn't change anything.

The PPPR Papers were *{PERFECT}* for this layout, I used: Lovebug White Polka Dots, Sunny Skies Honeycomb, Spring Fling Pattern Pack & Spring Fling Chevron

PPPR, 6-5-13, Shannon M.

❤ I hope I inspired you to create something today. ❤
