❤{Timeless Twine & Timely "News"}❤

Hi! Happy Tuesday! It's my day to deliver some "news' to you here at Timeless Twine..are you ready?

Ok here it is: There's 25 days until Valentine's Day!

I know, I's too soon and all that, yadda, yadda, yadda...but I'm telling you as a pro-procrastinator (see how I did that?) it's never to early to make a few cards!

Isn't that crazy!?!?! It's already almost another holiday! That's why I'm helping to inspire you by getting a jumpstart on Valentine's Day cards and greetings. I created this card just for this post:

Here's a close up of some of the details, I'm a giver like that:

I used some fabulous goodies from Bella Creationz on this handy, dandy greeting! Stuff you can find in the store, CLICK HERE for total enablement!

❤{Just My Type of Issue}❤

 Happy Monday!

Before I get to the meat and potatoes of this post, I need you to read this. Remember to do something good today. Honor a man who did so much for what he believed in, which was for people of all walks of life to work together. Something as small as paying it forward, a kind word, anything you can do to impact the community around you makes a difference!

It's not just a day off, it's a day to honor Martin Luther King, Jr.

  ❤ Paper Issues.

Font Issues.

Type Issues.

All of the above equals happy place! Paper Issues has a brand new issue up! You can probably guess it involves any of the following: Valentine's Day, love, relationships, typewriters, fonts, subway art, typography, etc.

The girls are bringing you some creations to inspire you! There's a great prize up for grabs when you link up in the form of a $20 Gift Certificate to Paper Issues...which is awesome since there is new stuff in the shop all the time!

Valentine's Day is coming, it's so crazy to type out those words. It feels as if the holidays were literally just here, but in fact they've been over for quite a bit, haven't they? I took this issue as an opportunity to get a jump start on Valentine's Day cards.

PI Just My Type, Shannon M.

You have until February 1, 11:59 P.M. to link up to this issue.

❤{In the Mood for January}❤

January is such a tough month, you have the post holiday let down, over indulgence from said holidays and often dreary weather that just adds to the blah. Luckily for you, there's a very cheery January Mood Board from Life. Paper. Scrapbook to brighten your day. Even if you aren't a scrappy person, this board is sure to inspire you. The colors are so very perfect. I know you will enjoy all of the layouts that the team created for this challenge.

Without further ado, or rather random Shannon-ish ramblings, here's the Mood Board:

The board, so fresh and cheery, evoked this onto paper:

(Make sure to link up to each challenge, that way you have more cances to win!) The challenge runs until 11:59 pm on February 10. Remember this is Austrailia time!!  The winner is randomly drawn.

★{Xyron & Cards Made Easy}★

Paddy & Mack are back to school, in full swing, and the holidays are well over. They received so many great things from their family and friends. This means THANK YOU NOTES. I took this as a personal challenge to create cute, fun thank you notes for them to send out. PSA: I also may have used super fabulous Xyron products to do so. Here's how I did it.

I started out with some basic card bases.

XT, 1-14, Shannon M.

I misted them with a rainbow of mists, the mist fell over each one.

XT2 1-14, Shannon M.

As these were drying I was cutting and assembling the following: 5 rectangles measuring roughly 3 X 5, punching out 5 vellum 3 X 4 rectangles with rounded corners, selecting 5 tags in coordinating colors, cutting 5 long lengths of twine, Cutting out 5 hearts in coordinating colors, 5 journaling cards, sequins and glitter glue.

XT3 1-14, Shannon M.

This is a rough assembly without any adhesive applied yet:

XT4 1-14, Shannon M.

XT5 1-14, Shannon M.

Set all of these aside and begin assembling. Start by using your Cheetah runner (if you have one, of course) and adhere the base rectangle down onto the card front:

XT6 1-14, Shannon M.

It should look like this:

XT7 1-14, Shannon M.

The next layer you are adhering is the journaling card:

XT8, 1-14, Shannon M.

Once you have this adhered, add the vellum rectangle:

XT9, 1-14, Shannon M.

The next layer you will be adding, is the heart, you'll want to place this off center towards the top of the card:

XT10 1-14, Shannon M.

The next step in this card is adding the tag and twine. Thread the twine through the tag and then pull the tails through the loop on the other end. Adhere the tag to the card to the right of the card and slightly off center. You can then twist the twine over the car and use some Teresa Collins clear adhesive to tack it down:

XT11 1-14, Shannon M.

You are now ready to add the sentiment. I used some stickers that I put first on some plain, white cardstock and then cut out. I added a foam square to the back and adhered it to the front of the card as shown:

XT12 1-14, Shannon M.

XT13 1-14, Shannon M.

This next step is totally optional, I added some sequins and glitter glue working left to right, from the bottom lefthand corner to the upper righthand corner.

Here is the card completed:

XT14 1-14, Shannon M.

Repeat the above steps as needed! Ha! I repeated this four more times, completing my set of five Thank You cards. ❤

Here they are in ROY G BIV order, because I'm OCD:

XT15 1-14, Shannon M.

XT16 1-14, Shannon M.

XT17 1-14, Shannon M.

XT18 1-14, Shannon M.

Here's hoping I have set you on the road to fun card quick assembly creations!

❤{Simple Scrapper Community Show & Tell!}❤

It's Show & Tell time again for Simple Scrapper fans everywhere! The Creative Team has been hard at work turning out some pretty awesome stuff!

Today is our big reveal we share what we created for everyone and hope that we inspire you to create something also!

I used a great sketch available over at Simple Scrapper with a Premium Membership (click here for details on that!) & a Story Starter (also a part of the membership -- which is worth every penny!)

The sketch is up first, I used it to document the joys of exterior illumination with our kiddos. Paddy and Mack love to help, if it's something they want to do...and they tend to only love helping with what they deem "the fun stuff"...notice in the pictures below, they were falsely jolly. I documented it anyways. ❤

Next up is the Story Starter, as you can guess, it had something to do with goals and lists. Since I've been on Jennifer's team, I have forced myself to put myself in the pages more. I thank her for this each and every month as I sit down to tackle these assignments. ❤

Thanks for letting me share with and stay tuned this month for more exciting stuff from Simple Scrapper

❄★❄{A Brand New Year}❄★❄

First, let me start off by saying how happy and thankful I am to be serving another term as a Twine-ista!

It's 2014...and it's pretty cold. The kids, who are happily stir crazy, are enjoying an extended vacation due the Polar Vortex. Thanks Polar Vortex for helping me avoid reality. I have been happily creating away in my pajamas, listening to the sounds of video games and giggling siblings in the background.

Our transition to 2014 was a bit rough, while others were out celebrating, 3/4 of us in no particular order...fighting a major headache, fighting a major sinus eye headache complete with vomiting and nursing a fat lip and sore face brought about by a basketball to the face. The other 1/4 took care of everyone and was the recipient of skunk eyes from two dogs who couldn't shove their way up onto the couch...also documenting the fact that clearly, no one was going to make it to 2014.

I created this layout for {TIMELESS TWINE} continuing our theme of "NEW" for January.

Here's a close up of some of the twiney goodness that is Timeless Twine:

I used Graphite Gray & Bubblegum Pink :

Have a fabulous Tuesday and look for more great ideas from our Twine-istas!!
