❤{Panda Eight & Paper Issues, Nothing Better!}❤

There's a brand new issue up at Paper Issues! It's pretty fantastic because it's Panda Eight & Paper Issues partnering up! The girls on the Paper Issues team created some inspiration to get you started. You will be floored. They create amazing stuff!

Here are the issue details: The issue is called "Pocket Full of Sunshine" (ideas would be pocket pages/Project Life, envelopes, sun/sunburst as a design element, sunny days, what you keep in your pockets/purse, upcycle a pocket from a pair of jeans or pants, use the word "sunshine" on your page, use Panda Eight flair if you have it!).

What's up for grabs for participating in this issue? 5 sets of flair of the winner's choosing from the Panda Eight shop!!!!

Not only that, Martha, Panda Eight's Owner is offering a discount code good during the two-week run of this issue. Head over to the Panda Eight store! The code is: SUNSHINE20 for 20% off!!

I created this layout just for the issue using some of Martha's awesome flair:

I love the colors, and the fun, fun feel...not to mention I hear the Beatles in my head whenever I look at this flair!

❤{Not Xyron, But Should Be Week - Day 4}❤

It's been a crazy inspiring week this week! From HSN's 24 hour craft day and Pinterest inspired projects, it's been non-stop! Today is no exception!

Xyron has a Pinterest case you didn't know...and there is tons of inspiration on it, like "Not Xyron, But Should Be!" That's what this week is all about! We are bringing you "Pinspiration" and I am sharing the pin I was inspired by before I begin explaining to you how I created it.

Here's the pin: DIY Notebook from a Cereal Box

Step 1. Obviously, you need a cereal box.

NXBSB#1, Shannon M.

Step 2. You're going to cut out the cereal box to create the cover for your notebook. I cut a 5" X 10" piece for mine, but you can make it as small or large as you wish. At this point, you can either fold it in half, and go on to step 4. If you want a little extra, keep reading. You're going to measure a two inch "flap" and score it.

NXBSB2, Shannon M.

Step 3. Once you've scored the 2 inch flap, you'll then fold the remaining part of the book in half. It should look like this.

NXBSB3, Shannon M.

Step 4. Begin covering your notebook. Select complimentary patterns amd colors. I am on a big gray/mint gree/robin egg blue kick...well it seems I always  use that color I guess it isn't that much of a surprise. I began by covering the inside. I stuck with one sheet of paper and cut it to size. I cut it slightly shorter so you could see the natural kraft of the box underneath.

NXBSB4, Shannon M.

Step 5. Now, you can begin covering the outside. I covered the whole outside of the "notebook". I didn't want any yellow showing. I distressed the edges. You can acheive this by dragging your nail alongside the paper, or scraping the edges with your open scissors.

NXBSB6, Shannon M.

Step 6. Repeat. {。◕‿◕。} Once you have both sides covered. Take a large width washi tape and run it the length of the notebook. You can eyeball it to make it "even". Once you've run it the length of the note book, trim the edges and then fold it.

NXBSB7, Shannon M.

Step 7. Repeat with flap. {。◕‿◕。}

NXBSB10, Shannon M.

Step 8. You're now ready to work on the front cover. I added some things here and there. I added a doily first as a base.

NXBSB8, Shannon M.

Step 9. I then added a length of patterned paper. I added a tag on top of the paper. I also added a mason jar to that tag. This I cut out from some patterned paper. I lined it up so that if the flap was closed, it looked as if it was hidden underneath.

NXBSB9, Shannon M.

Step 10.  You're now ready to add your pages to the inside. Take your Teresa Collins 2 hole punch and line it up so that it is centered as shown.

NXBSB11, Shannon M.

Step 11. You're then going to trim paper to fit inside the notebook. I cut mine to 4 X 6. I then punched holes and added a tie to secure them. I tied it tight, but not too tight, that way the pages can still turn.

NXBSB12, Shannon M.

Step 11. Add a few embellishments to the inside for inspiration in your jottings! I added a fun "penny for your thoughts card. I actually printed it out on my home computer and used a corner rounder. I then just added a few layers. I added a cute heart to the corner of the first page.

Step 12. After looking at the front cover, I felt like it needed a little extra oomph. I ran a long length of twine and threaded it through the tag and then using Teresa Collins clear adhesive, I designed the remaining twine to look like it naturally fell on the noebook cover. Next, I added a cute little banner using some great punches. I used Xyron Glue Dots and Foam Squares to adhere the "banner" to the cover.

NXBSB13, Shannon M.  Step 13. I then took a 1/8" hole punch and punched a hole in the flap. I then took a brad, and a transparency accent and fastened it to the hole. Cutting another length of twine, I wrapped it around the brad and then wrapped it around the notebook. I tied a bow and voila'! It's ready to go!

♥♡☞Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons & Sweet French Toast!☜♡♥

It's Wednesday. I am sure it's either snowing, raining or possibly both where you are dear reader. I am sorry. Truly. I think everyone has had just about enough of Mother Nature's neverending wrath this year. Seriously, she needs to simmer down. I'm even making empty promises not to complain about living in Hades this summer.

I can't get enough of making things with Lisa's Pretty Paper, Pretty Ribbons Breakfast Sweets Cutting Files. I used the French Toast for this sweet card. Smiling French Toast really can't be beat!

❤{It's Timeless Twine & Lawn Fawn Promo Week!}❤

Cross Promo Graphic 02
How fun is that?!?! Lawn Fawn and Timeless Twine are bringing you inspiration all week long!

You'll never run out of ideas after this week!

I created a few cards just for the occasion, take a look:

TT:LAWNFAWN, Shannon M. #1

For this card, I layered a heart with the adorable Lawn Fawn Let's Polka Petite Paper Pack, I then stitched across each row with Timeless Twine (Raspberry Pink, Lemonade Yellow, Olive Green, Aqua Blue & Graphite Gray). I also used the sweet #awesome stamps! I outlined everything as you see in the card with a super fine point pen. I then used some mists to leave drops on the card as shown. ❤

This next card carries on with the heart theme, I'm a bit of a heart junkie:

TT:LAWNFAWN, Shannon M. #2

You'll see more of the Let's Polka Petite Paper Pack and yes, more of the #awesome stamp set, these papers and stamps are so versatile! Lemonade Yellow makes a cameo in this card, along with Tuxedo Black. There's no special trick to this card. And it's a great way to use your paper used form previous projects. I layered the grays, added some vellum and the heart. I stamped the frame onto some cardstock, then again duplicated the inside of the frame and sentiment onto some vellum. (Let it dry a few minutes before cutting out and adhering.) I then added the hearts onto the vellum. There's no special trick to the twine either...there's no wrong or right way to "randomly place your twine". Throw some sequins on there and voila!

Have an awesome Tuesday and make sure you are checking out the Timeless Twine blog all week long! Our Twine-ista's have created some super awesome stuff! Make sure you are following Lawn Fawn on Facebook, checking out their site and blog too! Here are the links:
