Thank You Notes That Pop! | Scrapbook Adhesives at 3L

Happy 1/2 way through January to you, my friends! Can you believe that?!?! It's 1/2 way through the month already! Paddy and Mack get a few gifts from some loving friends and family each year. I encourage them to send handwritten thank you notes. Working on creating these notes for them to have ready to send, makes it easier to send them onto the thoughtful givers in their lives. I included a cute sleeve for the card to go in before we place it in an envelope.

Assembling That Card

I like to include lots of pictures in my posts, but I know that can get lengthy. Instead, I have included a collage for you, and I will explain the steps for you. You can see how I assembled the card below.

Step by Step

  1. Gather up supplies for the card, mine included some patterned papers, embellishments, a card stock base for my card and of course Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L adhesives!
  2. Start by adding a contrasting layer, as I did, I stick to a lot of basic patterns (stripes, dots, basics) as they pair well together.
  3. Of course, I added a doily. You do not have to do this, I just love doilies.
  4. I had a precut frame that I wanted to use, a lot of times you can find these within collections, or you can cut one out using a die cutting machine or a manual die cutter. I added a piece of tracing paper behind the frame. (The E-Z Runner® Micro Refillable Dispenser works perfectly for this.) I then added 3D Foam Squares, Black, Small size along the edge and flipped it over. Before adhering it to the card, I wanted to add some photo frames for an added detail.
  5. To accommodate the narrow corners at the top, I trimmed the photo corner in the picture as shown, this makes it possible to adhere to the frame without showing the backing of the photo corner.
  6. Go ahead and adhere the frame to the card front as shown, I then added a heart from my stash. I adhered it off center as shown.

The Final Details

7. This is the part of my card where I begun adhering things, here and there, perfectly imperfect. You will see a ticket, a cupcake topper star (which was adhered with a foam square) and taped down with some washi tape. There's also a bunny (which is a stamp) and you'll see even more details added in the next shot.
8. There are a few more details added, I wanted to fill the card with sweet details. There's a dainty tag, some washi tape, a butterfly tucked in the corner, and lastly the sentiment.
9. I created the sleeve, this is actually a paper bag (you could find it on etsy or other craft supply stores), with some details added to it. I added a few layers and then added a butterfly in the upper left corner.

Here are a few close ups of the details on this card and sleeve.

Documented: Family with Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

The holidays are flying by, it's almost New Year's Eve. Meanwhile, I am still trying to document 2018 before 2019 begins. We spent a lot of December at basketball courts. Catching some "chosen family" time was a priority, and everyone had a great night! Take a look below at some of the ways I used our great adhesives to create this layout.

Chosen Family Layout Shannon Morgan

Beginning the Layout

Look for colors that compliment your picture, I chose some non traditional Christmas colors, as well as the standards: red, green, white.

Chosen Family SetUp Shannon Morgan

To begin this layout, I grabbed some holiday papers and embellishments, creating the perfect holiday feel. I added layer by layer, focusing a lot of my details around that perfectly imperfect photo! My go-to for this, E-Z Runner® Grand Dispenser, I use this tool on every single project I begin.

Adding some Photo Corners

I love Creative Photo Corners! Two is all you need for this layout. The photo corners, in white of course, created the look I was going for.

Using Micro Dots

There are many different sizes of glue dots available from Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L, but one of the best sizes of all - the micro. Adhesive Dots (Micro) are so multipurpose, I used them for my twine placement and attaching sequins.

3D Foam Squares and Layers

If you are looking for an easy way to create some dimension, I hate to sound like a broken record, but 3D Foam Squares! Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L has so many foam products to choose from, there's bound to be one that fits the needs of your project!

Merry and Bright Card Set

Christmas cards in a snap?!? Wait, what? That's right, I said Christmas cards in a snap.Using some cute papers and embellishments, (and of course Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!) I am going to show you how to create a quick set of 4 cards here. I think by following this simple step by step, you can kick out a bunch of cards, just in time for mailing!

Shannon Morgan Christmas Cards Merry and Bright Set of 4

To get started, I began with gathering supplies. I gathered cardstock, some patterned paper, stickers, twine and adhesives. The cardstock bases measure 3.5"X5". The key with most of my cards is they build off layers. The cardstock base is the beginning layer. I created a step by step photo for you to help with easy assembly.

Shannon Morgan Christmas Cards Supplies

Step by Step

Shannon Morgan Christmas Cards Merry and Bright

  1. Begin with adding the patterned paper to the cardstock base. I cut mine to roughly 2.75"X4.5" and distressed the edges. (To do this, I used an open pair of scissors and scraped the edges of the patterned paper.)
  2. The next layer that I added, is tracing paper, clearly, it adds such a delicate touch. It can be perfectly imperfect and lend a layer that becomes ethereal.
  3. By adding another layer of cardstock I am helping in the visual interest of these cards, certainly lending to the fun feel of the card set.
  4. Step 4? I added a cute little border to the card. I did this with some coordinating stickers, I added an adhesive dot at both ends. Adhesive Dots Mediumwere the size I used to accomplish this step. After adding the border, I added an additional cardstock layer (white smooth cardstock).
  5. I'm adding an extra little "oomph" with a stitch layer. (This is actually a sticker, but..no one needs to know this.)
  6. Using 3D Foam Squares, I am creating some much needed height to the frames pictured above. Not only did I use foam squares, I doubled them, I wanted to make sure those frames jumped off the card.
  7.  Almost done, my cards are almost done! I will be adding a few little things, like the "merry and bright" sticker at the bottom, using adhesive dots to do so.

Here are the cards in no particular order, thank you for letting me share them with you.

Oh What Fun Card Set | Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

A certain excitement begins to build as November peeks around the corner at me, I find myself growing eager for the holidays ahead! As a scrapbooker, creating handmade cards for Christmas is almost a must! It's never too early to get started, and I created a cute set just for this post. Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L is just the tool to help get the job done!

Shannon Morgan Oh What Fun Card Set 10-29

These cards are cute little cards you can tuck inside a gift, attach to the top of a hostess gift or pop into the mail for a happy holiday greeting! You will see how I created these quickly and you too, can create some cards "assembly line" style. Take a look below, first, I gathered supplies. I stuck to a "collection" for this card set. As a whole, a collection is easier to work with when you need/want the cards to be similar.

I precut some card bases. I only made four in this set, however,  you can cut as many as you need specific to your task at hand. Next, I cut some layers that would serve as visual interest for the card. You will see these layers in the next "step by step" photo. The go to adhesive tool for me, E-Z Runner Grand, I am never without it.

Assembling the Cards

Looking at the steps above, you can see how I "built" the cards.

  1. I began with a cardstock base, and added a kraft layer, leaving edges of the cardstock peeking through.
  2. Using a patterned paper from the collection, I added a layer on top of the kraft layer.
  3. Admit moment: I love "whispy" layers. I add vellum/tracing paper or doilies to pretty much every project I create. If you want to skip this layer, feel free. There is no wrong or right way to create your cards.
  4. Adding the sentiment or theme of the card is my last step. I used 3D Foam Squaresto add some dimension to the card. Look below to see how I added the squares to the "sentiments." Note: You don't need a ton of foam squares to make a big impact, these foam squares do the trick!

The last step in the cards, was adding a few accents, like sequins. This is accomplished by using Adhesive Dots Mini, which is perfect for tiny sequins and accents you would like to add to cards, layouts and home decor.

A set of four is a good start, I have many more to make, but I'm feeling hopeful I won't be rushing to complete cards this year!! Thanks for letting me share with you today!! Hope I inspired you to get started on your holiday projects.

Good morning! I am so excited to share this layout with you today! Not only was it fun to create, it's kicking off an exciting week with Jillibean Soup and Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L!!

Shannon Morgan Blog Hoop Jillibean Soup Colorful Layout

This collection is outstanding! It's full of color and uplifting sentiments. I knew right away which photos I wanted to use, they feature my family, who colors my world (mushy sentiment tie-in intended!)

You can see that my photos are odd sizes. I'm not too ashamed to tell you, I ran out of photo paper, and I used "cut offs" from letter sized photo paper sheets! I love that the photos printed out in a non traditional size. They worked perfectly for the idea I had for this layout. Don't be afraid of adding multiple photos to your layouts, that's what scrapbooking memories is intended for!

This collection has so many fun patterns and colors, I wanted to try to incorporate as many as possible on my layout. I accomplished this by adding layers.

Perfect My Dear | Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L

27545216_10157105193478012_6738606016220942830_n

Good morning! Today, I'll be sharing a layout about 3D Foam Heartsand the girl who owns my heart, Mackenzie. I love capturing my daughter in pictures, granted, it's a hard thing to do these days. Additionally, I love the dimension 3D Foam Hearts lend to this layout.

Shannon Morgan 3DFoamHeartsLayout

The first thing I did, was gather up some bits and pieces to use on my layout. I wanted the 3D Foam hearts to be a feature in the layout, especially since they are so fun and stand out. (Of course, I had to use glitter!) Mackenzie is so beautiful, rarely she lets me capture it, as a result, this picture is the focus of the layout. I am, of course going to my layout, it's kind of my trademark. I always reach for the E-Z Runner® Grand Refillable Dispenser to get the job done.

Shannon Morgan 3D Foam Hearts 1
Shannon Morgan 3D Foam Hearts 1

You'll see that I used additional foam for this, to create interest. I used 3D Foam Circles Black Mix to do this. I used the 3D Foam circles on Mackenzie's picture, there's a shadow lending dimension to the layout.

Shannon Morgan 3D Foam Hearts Layout 3

What would you do with your hearts? The possibilities are endless. The versatility of the foam shapes by Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L  finish off the projects perfectly. Look and see what I did below, I used gold glitter on mine! A good old fashioned plate does the trick for catching glitter. For some extra interest, I sprinkled some sequins here and there.

Shannon Morgan 3D Foam Hearts Layout 4.jpg.

Adding the Hearts

When I began adding the hearts, I knew I wanted them to look "perfectly imperfect." You will be able to see in my placement of each heart, as you can see, each heart has a place. Again, if you look at the layout above, you will see how I accomplished this.

Final Touches

I added some words and spray mist to my layout. I am quirky in the sense that a layout doesn't feel finished unless I add mist to it. Here's a close up of some of the details and dimension that I keep mentioning.

Thank you for letting me share with you! Hope you have a great weekend!!

#ForeverTogether with The Cut Shoppe ❤

Good morning! Shannon here, sharing a layout about the beautiful girls pictured below. They are amazing, hilarious and can often be found together.  I used a few files from The Cut Shoppe for this layout: The Rough Waters, The Friends Forever & Boho Chic files.

Did you know that you can use part of a file? I did that with the Boho Chic file. Here's a close up of as always, so you can see these awesome files:
